Ski Apache Open Seven-Days a Week for the Season
Ski Apache opened on Thanksgiving Day as and since then has received a total of 50 inches of snow to date with 90 percent of the mountain open seven-days per week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Lift tickets are $47 for adults, $41 for seniors (60 years and older), $38 for military personnel, $39 for teens (13-17 years) and $30 for children under 13. Group ticket discounts are also available in addition to individual ski and snowboard equipment rentals, $20 for adults and $12 for children. Lifts run daily including holidays and more than 100 instructors are available daily for lessons. And with 15 feet of average annual snowfall in addition to its snowmaking capabilities, Ski Apache’s three terrain parks provide the hottest action on the mountain featuring five standard boxes, one rainbow box, three flat rails, one battleship rail, one flat-down-flat rail and one A-frame rail.

New Mexico Centennial Celebration – January 6-8
On Fri., January 6, New Mexico Birthday cake plus punch and coffee will be served at the Inn of the Mountain Gods and Casino Apache Travel Center beginning at 6 p.m. On Sat., January 7 there will be entertainment in the hotel lobby beginning at 2 p.m. with Apache War Dancers performing, Fiesta Dancers at 4 p.m. and a featured country/western band at 6 p.m. Miss Mescalero and Smokey Bear will also be on hand for the festivities.

The Pointer Sisters – Sat., January 14
Get excited: Legendary group The Pointer Sisters hit the Inn of the Mountain Gods’ stage Sat., January 14 at 8 p.m. Singing everything from pop, disco, blues to country, The Pointer Sisters have been making hits for four decades and always put on a great show. Tickets from $25 to $60.

Dwight Yoakam – Fri., January 20
Johnny Cash once cited him as his favorite country singer. Chris Isaak called him as good a songwriter that ever put a pen to paper. Time Magazine dubbed him “A Renaissance Man” and Vanity Fair declared he “strides the divide between rock’s lust and country’s lament.” “He” is Dwight Yoakam and he’ll be at Inn of the Mountain Gods Fri., January 20.  Don’t miss this concert by the Grammy-award winning country star. Tickets from $25 to $100.

Great White with Slaughter – Fri., February 10
The hard rock band Great White was formed in L.A. in 1978, gaining popularity in the ’80s and ’90s. The band released several albums in the late ’80s and gained airplay on MTV with music videos for songs like “Once Bitten, Twice Shy.” American heavy metal band Slaughter was formed in Las Vegas, Nev. by lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Mark Slaughter and bassist Dana Strum. The band reached stardom in 1990 with their first album, “Stick it to Ya” which spawned several hit singles inclucing “Up All Night,” “Spend My Life,” “Mad About You,” and the power ballad “Fly to the Angels.” The album reached double platinum status in the U.S. Tickets from $25 to $60.

Joe Nichols –Fri., February 17
Legends like George Jones and Merle Haggard have given Nichols their public seal of approval, adding real luster to accomplishments that reflect the respect he has earned across the board. The four-time Grammy nominee has released seven studio albums since 1996, which have produced fourteen Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the #1 singles “Brokenheartsville” and “Gimmie That Girl” as well as five other Top Ten entries.
