New On-Site Hotel Florist Provides Romantic Gift Options In the Spirit of Love

MESCALERO, N.M. (February 2, 2012) – Named the No. 1 most romantic getaway by Every Day with Rachael Ray Magazine in 2011, Inn of the Mountain Gods is the place to treat your sweetheart on the most romantic day of the year. Make this Valentine’sDay special and enjoy a choice of two romantic overnight stay packages, gourmet cuisine, a mountain adventure and special treats during the month of February.  Just in time, the Inn has recently opened an on-site florist to keep up with requests from guests forflower creations to help celebrate special occasions, including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and of course, Valentine’s Day. The florist is located next to the hotel front desk and in addition to resort guests is open to the public, Mon.-Fri.        9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Don’t miss out on the Inn’s romantic getaway specials any Sunday through Thursday during February and celebrate Valentine’s Day longer than just one day of the year. Choose between two packages, both of which come with roses and champagne. Love One package is just $149 per night for a superior or luxury room, including a half dozen roses and bottle of champagne upon arrival. The Love Two package is just $249 per night in a suite (excluding the presidential suite) and includes a dozen roses and a bottle of champagne making a truly special stay at the Inn. Package must be booked by February 8.

Whether your heart is set on fine dining or more casual comfort food, Inn of the Mountain Gods and Casino Apache Travel Center offer couples perfect dining choices from Wendell’s and Smokey B’s, along with a special menu for cozying up at the Gazebo at the top of the mountain at Ski Apache.

For those looking for a top-notch four-course meal, look no further than Wendell’s, offering a variety of options to choose from on Valentine’s Day from 5 p.m. to10 p.m. Dive into the meal with first-course offerings including Manchengo Cheese, Chicken Stuffed Poblano Pepper, Pan Fried Oysters with Shrimp Grenobloise Lemon Butter and French Capers and salad options prior to moving into the main course featuring New York strip au poivre, seared Red Snapper Encroute, roasted New Zealand Lamb Chop and Australian rock lobster tail among other items. Round out the meal with “A Heart Display of Ganache” featuring Godiva chocolate mousse and a raspberry coulis. Prices for courses vary; reservations recommended.

Serving up a the Valentine’s Sweetheart Special for just $49.99 per person, Smokey B’s will start you off with champagne, chocolate dipped strawberries and a rose for your sweetheart. You will then enjoy a main entrée of Rib Eye Diane cooked to your specifications, topped with special Diane sauce, accompanied with sautéed Rosemary Garlic potatoes. Complete your meal with Smokey B’s very own Chocolate Lava Cake. Available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tues., February 1.

Take a romantic adventure into the mountains on Sun., February 12 to experience extraordinary scenery and perhaps skiing or snowboarding at Ski Apache.  Indulge your loved one with the Sweetheart Gondola Menu at the Gazebo on top of the resort’s majestic mountain for just $39.95 per couple all-inclusive.  Start your romantic adventure taking a 20-minute ride in a Gondola reserved for two. You’ll be swept away over breathtaking alpine scenery up to the top – the Gazebo — where you’ll be presented with a rose for your sweetheart. There, take in the panoramic views of Sierra Blanca soaring to elevations above 12,000 feet and the vistas of the New Mexican desert; then start your dinner for two with assorted Canapés, followed by a Spinach Salad complemented with Goat Cheese, Mandarin Oranges, Pecans and Vinaigrette dressing.  The Main Course offers Chilled Shrimp, Slow Roasted Prime Rib with Mushroom Demi Glace, Baked Potato, Garlic Sautéed Asparagus and oven fresh Artisan Bread.  Your heavenly dessert is Red Velvet Cake with Sweet Cream Cheese Frosting and Hand Dipped strawberries.  Available 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sun., February 12.  Call 575-464-3600 to make reservations or for more.
