Upcoming Events and Activities at Ski Apache
Ski Apache Extended Hours – March 10-18
Ski Apache is extending its hours of operation to take advantage of the beautiful weather and great conditions before the season ends. The Ski Apache lifts will close one hour later than usual at 5 p.m.
Ski Apache Pond Skimming – Wed., March 15; 1p.m. to 3p.m.
As winter slip-slides away, don’t miss out on the good times during Ski Apache’s annual Pond Skimming event.
Sat., March 15. Grab the fattest pair of skis or a snowboard you can find and all the wax one can handle to help propel you down the mountain and across the pond for a chance at cash, prizes and bragging rights. In addition to the Pond Skimming event there will be a Bikini Contest and a Beach Body contest (for the guys). Contestants for the Pond Skimming will be judged for best costume, biggest splash, best crossing and more. Entry is FREE! For more information or to sign up call (575) 464-3600.
The Shamrock Relay – Sat., March 17; 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Two person teams will compete during this inaugural, Irish-themed race at Ski Apache. The rely will begin at the top of chair 3 (Easy Street) and will consist of four parts including a tubing section, three-legged section, eating challenge and tandem dash. Participants who dress in green and/or Irish motif will get to begin the race ahead of their fellow competitors! Following the race there will be an awards ceremony on the Plaza at 3 p.m. Teams must be signed up by 11 a.m. on Sat., March 17. Sign up at the Special Services Booth on the Plaza. Season Pass Sale – March 19-25 for $199
Ski or ride the entire 2012-2013 season with the Ski Apache Season Pass. Top –Rated Championship Golf Course Scheduled to Open in April
Don’t miss your chance to play Inn of the Mountain Gods’ premier 18-hole, Ted Robinson-designed Championship Course recently selected as Golf Week magazine’s 2011 “best courses to play on.” This one-of-a-kind course is due to open in early April. Horseback Riding Stables
The Inn of the Mountain Gods is the perfect mountain retreat facility. Our riding stables are open, weather permitting and not during scheduled Big Game Hunting. Daily trail rides last 1 hour, guests who plan on riding longer are asked to make a reservation. Riders must be at least 8 years of age and riding double is not permitted. Sporting Clay Range
The sporting clay range, located at the hunt lodge at Inn of the Mountain Gods, is open year-round, weather permitting. The range is closed during scheduled Big Game Hunts. All participants must be at least 13 years of age. For more information call 575-464-7424.
LeAnn Rimes, Thursday, March 29
LeAnn Rimes will hit the stage on Thurs., March 29 at 8 p.m. Rimes has sold more than 37 million albums, won two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards. She is the youngest recipient of a Grammy and was also the first country-recording artist to win in the "Best New Artist" category. Tickets from $25 to $100.
REO Speedwagon, Saturday, March 31

Engelbert Humperdinck – Thurs., April 19
The British pop singer is best known for the hits “Release Me (And Let Me Love Again)” and “After the Lovin’” as well as “The Last Waltz” (“The Last Waltz with You”). He’s also known for his friendships and performances with some of the music greats. Several of the major forces in the world of rock n’ roll, including Jimi Hendrix and The Carpenters, started out as opening acts for Humperdinck in the late’60′s, 70’s and ’80′s…(and) it was Humperdinck, not Elvis, who made famous the sideburns and flamboyant leather jumpsuits.
