The First
Annual Taos Mountain Motorcycle Rally & Music
Festival

(Taos, New Mexico) The First Annual Taos
Mountain Motorcycle Rally & Music Festival, July
10-12, 2009, will be the largest event in
Northern New Mexico!
Located at the beautiful Kit Carson Park in the
Town of Taos, the event will host 3 stages, two
motorcycle runs, a bike row, custom bike
contest, tattoo contest, miss Taos mountain
contest, bike & food vendors, arts & crafts
village, and a kid friendly zone. “We put
together an all-star team, the best in Taos, to
pull this off,” stated Festival Coordinator
Jennifer Martin, “It has been an exciting and
thrilling ride to be part it.”
The event is part of the Summer of Love 2009
celebration of the 40th anniversary release of
the motion picture Easy Rider. “We have already
secured Grand Funk Railroad for Friday night and
Puddle Of Mudd for Saturday night as our
headliners,” said festival manager Seth
Bullington, “I am really excited about the
calibur of local and regional bands we have
talked to and can’t wait to post their names on
our web-site.”
Grand Funk Railroad

This top selling American rock group of the 70’s
is celebrating its 40th Birthday and will
perform 40 show in 2009. This high-energy
five-piece group formed in 1969, Grand Funk was
born out of the ashes of Terry Knight & The
Pack, another band from Flint, Michigan.
Currently the group includes original founding
members Don Brewer (vocals and drums, writer and
singer of the hit, We're An American Band) and
bassist Mel Schacher. Joining Don and Mel are
true "All-Stars" such as Max Carl (38 Special,
Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Max Carl and Big
Dance), lead guitarist Bruce Kulick (12 years
with KISS and credits with Michael Bolton,
Meatloaf and Billy Squier), and keyboardist Tim
Cashion (Bob Seger and Robert Palmer). Together,
Brewer and Schacher have created a dynamic and
multi-talented five piece band that will not
only carry on the tradition of Grand Funk hits,
but also has the potential to create a new
chapter in the legacy of Grand Funk Railroad.
Mega-hits We’re An American Band, I’m Your
Captin/Closer to Home, Locomotion, and Some Kind
of Wonderful still receive continuous airplay on
classic rock radio. With Grand Funk reforming in
2000, this is a new chapter in the band's
biography, being written daily.

Puddle of Mudd

Puddle of Mudd is an American rock band from
Kansas City, Missouri, consisting of Wesley
Scantlin (guitar and vocals), Paul Phillips
(guitar), Douglas Ardito (bass), and Greg
Upchurch (drums). To date the band has sold over
7 million albums, and have had a string of #1
singles in the U.S. While their songs expectedly
contain the rage of such contemporaries as Korn
and Rage Against the Machine, Scantlin's voice
at times is eerily similar to Nirvana's late,
great frontman, Kurt Cobain, containing
unmistakable elements of traditional hard rock
(unlike the other aforementioned band's penchant
for rap). August 2001 saw the release of their
major-label debut, Come Clean (which was
preceded by the independent release Abrasive),
the band subsequently remained somewhat busy,
releasing Life on Display in 2003 and Famous in
2007. For all their platinum albums, awards and
sold-out shows, Puddle Of Mudd have retained
their organic approach to songwriting, usually
starting with Wesley at home with an acoustic
guitar. “If it sounds good and it makes your
skin goose bump-up then you’re probably onto
something,” says Scantlin, “It’s about passion
and writing music that connects with other
people and somehow heals them. I really want to
try to crawl under peoples’ skin and at the same
time make some kick-ass rock ‘n roll music.”
