Gallery is pleased to present a selection of
recent still lives in a show titled
“Metaphorically Speaking” by Jacob A. Pfeiffer.
The show opens with a reception for the artist
Friday September 16th from 5 to 7 PM at the
Meyer East Gallery located at 225 Canyon Road
Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501.
“First and foremost, I think art should speak
for itself. I am not a believer in lengthy
descriptions about artwork or the creative
process. The viewer should be able to draw their
own conclusions from the visual power of the
piece. That having been said, I humbly submit my
personal artist statement for your reading
pleasure”, explains Pfeiffer.
“Wordplay, visual pun, metaphor
and whimsy are all important elements in my
work. I want my paintings to offer the viewer a
respite from the serious times that we live in.
With my tongue firmly planted in my cheek, I try
to paint ordinary objects and subject matter in
